Corvette Stingray model exposed at auto show in Chicago

Stingray Concept Corvette

Corvette Stingray did it again for an amazing performance, but sorry for our car aficionados, the model can only be seen in the movies. Yes, in the movies. This Corvette will appear in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen as Sideswipe. The model was conceptualized two years ago by designers of Corvette and it was shown at an auto show in Chicago last Wednesday.

The Stingray is regarded as one of the most spectacular Chevy (more Chevrolet news on Chevrolet Car Blog) models that have shown in mankind. The smooth silver car drags one to be reminded of the 1959 race car of Stingray and 1963 Corvette with the split-back window at the rear part.

The Corvette Stingray model caught the eye of Michael Bay, the director of Transformers. This was conceptualized and created in General Motors’ renowned Studio X. The Corvette has features like a nearly shark-like lattice, hollowed fenders and sets of chrome wheels.

Ed Welburn, the head of the GM design, expressed that he can’t say if this model would be a part of the potential Corvettes. According to him, the Stingray is really a concept, and it helped his designers to be able to come up with great ideas.

As to the growth of the subsequent Corvette, Welburn said that the design team had explored, in regards to the next model.

The disclosure of the Stingray at the auto show was much different to the concept of the Chevy Camaro concept. The Camaro will also star in the movie as Bumblebee.
