Maserati GranTurismo MC debuts in US Market

US Maserati Gran Turismo-MC

Maserati has recently announced that their flagship supercar, the GranTurismo MC Stradale will hit US markets very shortly. Sort of. The American version will be subject to a few major changes. In the US it will be known as the GranTurismo MC and unfortunately the name wasn’t the only thing to be cut short.

Also, to be left out for the American market is their sequential gearbox, opting instead for a ZF-sourced automatic transmission. Their sequential gearbox is capable of shifting in 60 milliseconds when in race mode, but Maserati promises the automatic will also perform exceptionally well comparative to other standard transmissions.

The MC will also carry more weight since 2+2 seating is being added, whereas the European spec is only a two-seater.

To be fair, Maserati’s target market is top level executives and they’re simply responding to buying trends within the US. On the plus side, the MC will sport a slightly improved exhaust system and valve train components.
